Initial observations and research

After conducting market research and analyzing data from users of our existing app, we identified certain challenges

1 : How can we create a loyalty program online that attracts new and current customers, making them really like our brand?

2 : How can we easily tell customers about our new program when they're shopping, at the right times?

3 : In order to enhance the overall customer experience, what steps can we take to simplify the process of linking loyalty and digital site accounts,facilitating optimal engagement with our business across both in-store and online platforms?

Geolocation and Partner Stores

Pain point : Most of the users have expressed dissatisfaction with the app UI, stating that the displayed shops lack relevance and personalization.

Solution : A location-based user interface displaying nearby partnered stores with personalized cashback offers based on user preferences and purchase history. (Data point: 80% of Indian smartphone users utilize location-based services on their devices)

Payment Integration

Pain point : The pre-payment integration process posed challenges for the average user, as it necessitated the cooperation of staff at the counter, leading to issues.

Solution : Seamless integration with UPI apps for instant in-store payments with automatic cashback credit.(Data point: 80% increase in the app use created a virality)later we added the option to pay with debit/credit cards

Instant Cashback & Gift cards

Pain point : Frustration of waiting for rewards and navigating complicated redemption processes that plague 72% of loyalty program users!

Solution : Lookodu revolutionizes the loyalty game with instant cashback powered by the secure UPI payment system. Scan your purchases, pay through Lookodu with the assist of your trusted UPI apps.A portion of your bill instantly reflects as cashback in bill. But the instant gratification doesn't stop there. Each purchase earns you ODU coins, a flexible reward currency you can use to snag gift cards from famous brands in the Lookodu store. Movie nights, shopping sprees, tech upgrades – the possibilities are endless! And all this with the secure and convenient UPI system, eliminating the need for multiple cards and confusing processes.(Data point : 85% increse in redemption using Loookodu after introducing UPI and 60% incresed claims of ODU Coins)

Conclusion

Being part of this project felt like stepping into a significant opportunity. I still recall using the initial version of lookodu before becoming a part of the team, making it a privilege to revive the project. Collaborating with a skilled group of individuals, even in challenging situations, taught me a great deal. We navigated a vast terrain swiftly, but the app has many facets yet to be explored, and there's plenty more in store.
